Our New Year’s resolution is to send our customers a bimonthly newsletter with helpful tips for your outdoor spaces and any news and updates you might need to know. Lawn Maintenance
We are currently servicing our customers on a biweekly basis. Since turf grass is not active this time of year, your crew will focus mainly on leaf cleanup, removing debris, and seasonal cutbacks. If you are not a full service annual customer, now is the time to call the office to schedule an estimate for a cleanup to get your yard in shape!
Irrigation
To prevent damage due to freezing temperatures, your irrigation system should be winterized (controller off, backflow and pumps shut off and drained). As we move into February, it will be time to start up your system again. If you are currently on our irrigation program, we will take care of this for you!
Lawn Care and Shrub Care
Our first round of pre-emergent herbicide begins in January. This application helps to prevent weed germination during the spring season. As we leave behind the cold winter months fungus can become a problem. If you are a current lawn care customer, your lawn care tech will be checking for this during his applications.
Landscaping
Do you have a dream for your yard? Now is the time to call our office to schedule an estimate before the schedule fills up. Whether you need new sod, some sprucing up, or a full-scale design and install our in-house landscape designer can work with you to create an outside space you will enjoy.
Employee Spotlight
Doug Simpson is our Lawn Care Manager and one of our state-certified Pest Control Operators. He has been with our company since 2011. Before coming to Baldin Turf, Doug studied entomology and served for 6 years in the Air Force as a pest management supervisor. Now, Doug is in charge of managing and overseeing the lawn care operations at our Niceville branch. Doug holds many industry certifications and participates in continuing education that allows him to keep current on all the new products and techniques that can be used to maintain the health of your lawn and shrubs.
