After an unusually long winter, we hope you are able to spend time in your yard enjoying this nice spring weather! The weather is warmer, things are growing, and there is a lot of work to do! Of course, with spring weather comes spring showers. We make every effort to stick to our schedule, but occassionally, due to weather, our schedule may temporarily change.
Lawn Maintenance
Our crews are back to servicing your property on a weekly basis. You may notice that your crew is still “bagging” your lawn due to a large amount of leaf debris. Temperatures are right for weed control chemicals to be effective on weeds you may have in your bed areas; if you are a full service customer your crew will be treating your beds during their weekly service visits.
Irrigation
All irrigation customers’ systems are back up and running for the growing season. The recommended watering for this time of year is 1-2 times a week. It is best to water your lawn in the early morning hours so that you lose a minimal amount of water to evaporation, but also give the lawn a chance to dry out between waterings to prevent fungus.
Lawn Care and Shrub Care
Our lawn care technician will be spot-treating for seasonal weeds in addition to applying your scheduled applications. Upcoming applications for lawn and shrubs will focus on fertilization. Turf insects and fungus should not be a problem this time of year.
Landscaping
Spring is all about improving your landscape so that you can enjoy it throughout the year. It is a great time of year to install new plants, put down a fresh layer of mulch or pine straw, or even replace an old lawn. Empire Zoysia is our landscaper’s turf grass of choice when resodding.
